Put a Ring on It

Fall 2010 346 {Beautiful Baubles by Parisian Designer, Kirat Young, recently spotted at a trunk show at  a bientot in Houston}

If lamps are my favorite accessory for the home, then rings are my favorite accessory to wear. I may have a bit of an addiction to fun rings. While I love chandelier earrings, bold necklaces, and pretty bracelets, rings seem to have taken precedence in my line-up of accessories. While my engagement ring and wedding band are set in white gold (I chose it because I don’t like how soft Platinum is), I prefer gold when it comes to costume or fun jewelry. I may be a little like Carrie Bradshaw in that regard (Poor Aidan. He never stood a chance!). Since I’ve been on a bit of a ring kick, I thought I’d round-up some of my favorite pieces that have recently caught my eye. And in case you were wondering, yes, I did listen to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” while working on this post!

{Clockwise From Top Left: 18 karat Gold and Diamond Ring, Amethyst and Turquoise Cocktail Ring, Casbah Ring, Gold and Onyx Ring all via 1st Dibs}

These beauties would be fabulous any time of day. After all, it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere, right? I’ll take one of each, please.

{Charles de Temple 18 kt gold, Pearl and Diamond Ring via 1st Dibs, Gold and “Turquoise” Yves Saint Laurent Enamel Ring via Net a Porter, Buccellati Coral Ring from 1st Dibs, 1960s Lapiz and Diamond Ring}

I love the organic quality of these rings, from the shapes to the actual stones.

{Van Cleef & Arpels Yellow Gold Owl with Sapphire Eyes, Kenneth Jay Lane Starfish Ring, Ileana Makri 18 kt Rose Gold Diamond Cobra Ring via Net a Porter, Albert Lipten Yellow & White Gold Horse with Bit Ring from 1st Dibs}

These animal-shaped rings are playfully chic!

{Monica Vinader Stacking Semi-Precious Rings, Pippa Small Greek Opal Ring, both from Net a Porter, House of Lavande 1950s Amethyst Ring, 1960s Italian Sculptural Gemstone Ring from 1st Dibs}

What could be prettier than a beautiful gemstone ring? Whether your style is classic, sculptural, or organic, these lovelies add a bit of polish to any outfit.

{Yves Saint Laurent Arty Flower Ring, Marlene Stowe Puzzle Ring, L. Frank 7-Part Diamond Ring}

These rings might be the most versatile of the lot. They go with just about everything! I think the 7-Part Diamond ring would be a very cool alternative to a traditional engagement ring or wedding band.

{Large Pyramid Ring via Forever21, Cabernet Ring from Banana Republic, Faceted Stone Ring, Cracked Pebble Ring, Flower Rhinestone Ring}

Let’s be honest, most of the rings previously mentioned in this post belong in the dream category. If you want a statement making piece, but only have a few bucks to spare, most of these “pop rocks” are under $5!
