it's not all about the roses...

Plenty of rain earlier this year has meant that not only have the roses been abundant and prettier than ever, but also the other parts of the garden.

The most important element for a garden planted from scratch, apart from constant care and attention, is time. Time is the garden's best friend. This year our garden feels as if she has come of age and she feels settled, confident even. She is happy where she is and with who she is. She has learned some tough lessons about snow and frost... even the wild boar have come down from the mountains to torment and pester her, but she has prospered despite these challenges. She is certainly not all grown up but I recognise the signs of maturity. She is very bien dans sa peau...l she is French....xv
