Dreamy English Country Home - Mark Wilkinson

I absolutely adore UK decor magazines and
one of my favorites is 25 Beautiful Homes.
This issue has got to be one of my all time
favorites. The home on the cover is a 15th
century restored 2 story house in Wiltshire.

The facade of the building is so charming. Just what you
would imagine in the English countryside. Mark and
Cynthia Wilkinson are the founders of Mark Wilkinson
Furniture. The house has 6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms,
a kitchen/breakfast room, office, cloakroom, a drawing
room nad a sitting/dining room. Large home!

I just Love the colors he used to decorate
his home! Purple, green and pink chunky
corduroy cover his sofas and chairs. Bring
it on!

He had this room's ceiling completely covered in gold leaf.
Talk about decadent. It's beautiful! The rug is from none
other than The Rug Company. Furniture from Duresta.

For his kitchen, lemonwood topped with marble.

This man really knows how to use color in a 15th century
home dating back to the 1420's!

The bedroom is a rustic but cozy sanctuary.
The exposed beams are amazing.

A look at the corner of the master bedroom.

The master bath - more of that gorgeous wood
and marble. He also had the ceilings here
covered in Gold-leaf. It has such a warm glow.

A sumptious and richly appointed guest bedroom with silks.

If I were to have a country home, I certainly wouldn't
mind moving into one like this! It's such a retreat.
