I Love

If you're like me then you can't start the day without a big cup of coffee. To further feed my two favorite addictions (coffee and Kate Spade) I'm imploring my hubby through this post to "surprise" me with one of these coffee mugs by Kate Spade. I would love the Library Book Mug but they seem to be temporarily out of stock on the site. Guess he'll have to go the extra mile and pick one up at the nearest Macy's. ;)...Happy Shopping Everyone!

I Love

Fall and winter are the two best seasons to curl up with a good book. Kate Spade’s new short stories collection is giving you seven books to help you through the cold seasons. For these tales Kate Spade has commissioned seven female writers in collaboration with strand bookstore to create stories so each incorporate the phrase, "she is quick and curious and playful and strong" at some point in the story. I love this set because of the artfully designed cover of each short story. Not only do you get a good read but you also add a pop of color to your home. And for only $35 they would make a perfect holiday gift...Happy Shopping Everyone!

DIY Pink Ampersand Artwork

My obsession with the Kate Spade pink ampersand artwork has finally culminated into a DIY project. Before I get started on how to get this project started I must say that this is my first and last (as of now) art project. I must also let you know that there are a number of different ways to do this project and the way I chose to go about it might have been the most difficult. All that being said I hope you guys still try this project at home because the result is really beautiful and would bring such life to any space. In total this project cost less than $20. Let me know if you have any questions...Happy Crafting Everyone!

Materials Needed:
1. Ampersand Graphic
2. Exacto knife
3. Canvas/Canvas Panel
4. Behr Mulberry sample paint
5. White Spray Paint
6. Roller Lite Tiny Touch Up Kit
7. Painters Tape
8. Art Brushes
Step One: Pour sample paint into roller lite tiny touch up kit.Step Two: Paint entire canvas and let it dry.Step Three: While canvas is drying use exacto knife to cut out ampersand graphic.Step Four: Once the canvas is dry and you have cut out your template use the painters tape to tape your template onto the canvas.Step Five: Use the spray paint to cover the openings of the template. OR you can use a roller and roll on white paint. This method might be best because I had blow back from the spray paint that I had to later touch up as you will see in the following steps.
Step Six: Remove the template from the canvas and use your art brushes to make any touch ups needed because of blow back.
Step Seven: Once paint is dry, hang and enjoy.

Pink Ampersand

I'm starting to see this pink ampersand artwork every where. First on the walls of Kate Spade New York and now I see it hanging on this fab baby blue chevron wall. I'm not sure where I can pick one up but I do think it would make a great DIY project. Maybe I'll try it out next weekend. I will keep you all posted. In the mean time if you know where one is available for purchase please let me know... Happy Crafting Everyone!

Birthday Giveaway

Happy Birthday to me and Shoebox Décor. Today Shoebox Décor turns 2 and I also turn 2… with a 9 at the end. To celebrate our birthdays we have talked about it and decided to launch our long awaited Facebook fan page. Yes I know we are a little late to the party, but Shoebox tells me that everyone is on Facebook so we should go and socialize.

To celebrate the occasion we are giving away a set of Classic Coasters by Kate Spade to one lucky fan. All you have to do to enter is become a fan of our Facebook fan page. The winner will be announced this Friday. On our new page we will have lots of updates from around the design world and special coupons just for our fans. I hope you all love the page and leave lots of messages….Happy Facebooking!

I Love

It's Monday and I feel tons better. I want to thank you all for your well wishes, they were greatly appreciated. Over the weekend I fell in love with this Hopper dot rose bowl from Kate Spade. At $75 the price is a bit too high for me so I'm on the hunt for a way to get what I want without breaking the piggy bank. I think some crafting might be needed....Happy Shopping Everyone!
