Summer Fire

The Dwell on Design exhibition this past weekend was really informative and lots of fun. For the next few days I will be posting about some of my favorite companies and products from the show. Today is about modern ventless fires. I was really impressed with Brasa, a company located in Vince who makes some of the most beautiful eco-friendly fireplaces. I’m a traditional girl at heart but sometimes I flirt with modern design, so it was no surprise that their Murano and Hudson fireplaces caught my eye. Murano would be great for any outdoor setting and the Hudson has the makings for the perfect duel sided fireplace. They have many more design options to choose from so I’m sure you’ll find the right one for your décor. I’ve been on the hunt for a new purse for awhile now. The problem I have with my current purses is that there is not enough storage. Granted they are big enough and weigh a ton but they just don’t have the right compartments to hold all my stuff (or junk as my hubby puts it). Because of this I spend a great deal of time digging in the bottom of my purse looking for my cell phone or business cards. Being the researcher that I am, I started to look at the different types of purses the women in the design world were carrying. I observed an array of them but the tote bag seemed to be the most popular. My design friend Erica carries the most fabulous tote that she gets in and out of in a matter of seconds. I envy that ease so I typed in “Affordable Designer Tote” into the Google and this lovely Rioni Teacher’s Handbag popped up. *I’m a simple girl who loves simple things, so when I saw the cell phone pouch I knew that this was the purse for me. It even comes with a detachable shoulder strap for when is gets too heavy with my “junk”. So what do you think and do you have an "it purse" of your own?...Happy Shopping Everyone!

I watched Sex and the City 2 a couple of months ago and I instantly fell in love with the bella umbrella from the remorseful desert scene. I searched high and low for it on the internet but I just couldn't find the right one. Last week I finally found it at umbrellas.net. The bright magenta color would be perfect for spring. I already have a wonderful vintage Moschino umbrella that I love and wouldn't give up for the world but there is just something about this umbrella that puts a smile on my face. I love pink and think it would be great in any little girls room but I must say the black Kettle Classic is more my style. It would be lovely in any bedroom or office. Even their retro designer fabrics are to die for. These aprons would make a wonderful housewarming or birthday gift.
