I watched the original 1978 French film, La Cage aux Folles on the weekend and although it is an oldie it is still most definitely a goldie. It was a play, a movie, then another movie and now a musical so I am sure you are all familiar with the story line but put simply.....'Two gay men living in St Tropez have their lives turned upside down when the son of one of the men announces he is getting married. They try to conceal their lifestyle and ownership of the transvestite club when the fiancee and her parents come for dinner.'
It is light and frothy..... imagine French-Saint-Tropez-drag-queens-meet-Priscilla-Queen-of-the-Desert kind of fun.
If you are a fan of the French film then this is one comedy to watch, xv.
