Cookie Exchange

As you guys know I had a cookies exchange at my apartment last weekend. I finally got a chance to gather all the pictures. We went light on the Christmas décor this year but it was still tons of fun. My friend Ria even took the time to make cocktail napkins with my tartan fabric. Usually planning these events can be a bit too much but I decided to pick up a cookie exchange kit from William Sonoma which made things a lot easier. The little ginger bread men with the Santa hats had me at hello…Happy Planning Everyone!

Izzy and the Candy Palace

It’s that time of the year when we all realize how blessed we are and feel the need to help those less fortunate. To give a hand, South Coast Plaza will celebrate the launch of a new children’s book, “Izzy and the Candy Palace,” which was inspired by Isabel J., a 9-year-old from Newport Coast who wanted to write to help the less fortunate.

Isabel wishes to donate 100% of the proceeds to Kid’s Café, a program at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The book is only $20 and will help feed twenty seven families. The MMJ Foundation, of Newport Beach, published the book.

The book tells a story of a young girl at a candy palace and her dealings with the candy monster. At the end of the day, it’s a story about having too much of a good thing. Perhaps, when there’s too much candy, the best thing to do is share.

“Izzy and the Candy Palace” will be sold at the shopping center until Dec. 16 and can be found at my new favorite store, Assouline. Visit thecandypalace.com for more information and a peek at the first few pages…Happy Giving Everyone!

Rue Christmas

The Tartan Christmas layout in issue two of Rue Magazine has got me inspired. The bright red, gold chains and colorful plaid are all items I want to incorporate into my Christmas décor this year. I already have these wonderful cookie tins for the cookie exchange next week. Now I just need to find a plaid fabric that works well with them. I'm so excited! So what are your holiday décor plans this year?...Happy Entertaining Everyone!

Christmas Cards

This year I'm happy to say I'm not too far behind on my Christmas cards. I designed and ordered them last night from Tinyprints.com. We went with the Snowscape Chic ornament card designed by Rachel Zoe. The great thing about this card is that a proceed from the sale will go to benefit the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation. So not only will we be chicly hanging on everyone's tree this year, we will also be helping out a great cause...Happy Holidays Everyone!

Give Both Ways

Now that Halloween is over it’s time to start focusing on the holiday season. With Christmas right around the corner I’ve been thinking about gifts that give both ways and I’ve found the perfect one. Thanks to Kohl’s when you purchase one of these Dr. Seuss books or exclusive plush toys a 100% of the processed will go to support kid’s health and education initiatives in communities nationwide. At only $5 each, these books and/or toys would make perfect stocking stuffers. Don’t you think?...Happy Gifting Everyone!

Christmas Dishes

One Kings Lane is having a Faberge event and this 5-piece galaxie set would make the perfect Christmas day set. There is no way I can afford it at $349 but if I could you know I would be hauling these babies out on x-mas day. We will file these under "to rich for my blood"...Happy Shopping!
