A Tea Party for the Girls!

Sorry gentlemen, this one's for the ladies.  I saw this fabulous post on
Lila's blog Pretty Prowler.  Her mother puts together a party every
year for just the ladies in the family.  What a fantastic tradition!  It
makes me want to create one like it.  Aren't the Tiffany Blue
cupcakes cute?

This year's theme was Breakastat Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn,
who is one of my style icon idols.  Just look at all the love that went
into preparing the event.  Check out the rest of the photos

I've saw this book that came out recently and was waiting
for the right post to showcase it.  Isn't the cover beautiful?
With a gorgeous name to match it.  If you're in the mood
for a small party or get together and need some ideas in
creating beautiful sweets to go with it, check out

And the winner from the drawing is Karena from Art by Karena!
She'll be receiving a copy of House Beautiful's Blue.  Be sure to

Different Uses for Tea Cups

I freely admit that I'm a compulsive tea cup collector...especially ones that
don't match - all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors.  I saw a documentary
once that Jacky Chan the martial arts comedian has a collection too.  And
why not indeed?  Other than being able to have Mad Hatter or Alice in
Wonderland themed tea parties, one can actually do a lot in the way of
decor with a teacup.

I love the miniature bouquet above in this tea cup set.

Larger flowers all of the same kind will do just as well.

Ever thought of serving cupcakes in tea cups?

Making a miniature house in a tea cup?
Now this takes skill!  Amazing isn't it?

A tea cup can also serve as a great candle.

Stack them up as a miniature shelf for small
things or to serve chocolates and sweets on.

This isn't exactly a tea cup but a tea cup
made of yarn is certainly creative.

If you love platter ware and tea sets, this Wedgewood
book is a really great book to check out.  Available
through Amazon.

So if you have a collection of tea cups or occasionally
have the urge to buy one at a flea market, discount store,
or stores like Anthropologie - you should!  There's so much
you can do with tea cups.  Put candy in them, your change,
beads or other little things in...the list goes on.

Inspirational, Colorful and Mouthwatering CupCakes !

Well...I just can't resist beautiful photos of desserts, cakes
and food in general. Today's post is on cupcakes that are
also eye candy. Food and candy also make for great color
inspirations. How about this pink spread of cupcakes?
It's a great idea for Valentine's day or to modify it for a
girl's birthday party.

These handmade cupcakes have a really organic and
natural look to them. They are so beautiful!

Instead of giving chocolates, why not give
a dozen miniature cupcakes?

Super Mario Brother Cupcakes = Super Fun!

These cupcakes remind me of the Care Bears. I
loved watching the cartoon when I was little.

Japanese character cupcakes. You have to hand it to
the Japanese for being the ultimate in creativity when
it comes to creating cute characters. They even have
a comic based on a white radish - to top it off, they actually
came up with a story line for the white radish character
that is totally funny. I will have to introduce you to this
radish character.

Oooooh. Mint chocolate cupcakes...

I totally did a double-take when I saw these cupcakes.
Talk about confusing the mind. I don't know about you,
but cupcakes are sweet. When I look at a cheeseburger,
I think salty and greasy. But I have to admit, it is a very
creative and way cool idea.
