Holiday Gift Guide: Home Edition

I recently put together this Holiday Gift Guide with great ideas for the home. It went out in our High Gloss newsletter yesterday, but I thought I’d share it on La Dolce Vita in case anyone missed it.Speaking of gifts, our “12 Days of High Gloss” giveaway series is well under way and we have plenty of fabulous gifts to give away to our readers. Don’t miss your chance to win! For more details, visit our Happenings page.

  1. Jonathan Adler recently added a zig zag throw to his fabulous collection of textiles and it just so happens that it is one of our favorite patterns. This throw would add a graphic punch to any home and is classic enough to work with most types of décor.
  2. These unique champagne glasses by Sagaform provide an unexpected twist on the typical flute.
  3. Swanson Vineyards’ Modern House Wines are both witty and delicious! Each bottle is inscribed with a fun sentiment. Their Clarke’s Bark chocolate-merlot toffee is out of this world and highly-addictive!
  4. Jayson Home and Garden’s Marble Salt and Pepper Cellars would be a fabulous addition to any kitchen, whether you cook or not! They’re beautiful and have an old-world sensibility with a modern twist.
  5. Books that cater to a person’s interest are always a thoughtful gift. If your friend loves interior design, we highly recommend Mary McDonald’s beautiful new tome. For those who love trying out new recipes, you can’t go wrong with the Barefoot Contessa’s new book How Easy is That?, or better yet, her complete cookbook collection. For people with the travel bug, Assouline’s Room With A View will inspire a whole new case of wanderlust!
  6. We love giving and receiving delicious smelling candles. One of our current favorites is Lagniappe by LeSueur Interiors. Our friend Meg had them custom-blended to smell like the South and created the most luxurious fragrance with notes of fig, hay, jasmine, and oak. It smells absolutely divine and sets the stage for the festivities ahead.
  7. These bone and wood inlaid chevron frames from Furbish would be made even lovelier with a personal photograph for the recipient inside.
  8. The lovely Queue Vase from ZGallerie doesn’t require major flower-arranging skills, or major bucks. It’s only $10!
  9. These agate coasters are ultra-chic and they come in a variety of colors. They work with just about any type of décor and are a great deal at only $32 per set.
  10. Help your hostess to entertain beautifully with a lovely set of dessert plates, like this ikat version from Anthropologie. They would also look lovely hung on a wall.
  11. Add a touch of glamour to someone’s literature collection with designer Coralie Bickford-Smith’s latest installment of beautifully-designed book covers. This time, she has taken on literary great, F.Scott’ Fitgerald’s finest works and has reimagined them with a combination of metallics and deco-inspired prints.
  12. iomoi’s chic lucite trays make a fabulous statement and they are highly-customizable with a variety of fun patterns and fonts to choose from.
