Fabulous Room Friday 10.30.09
I just found out about the extremely talented Washington, D.C. interior designer, Tricia Huntley through Michele of My Notting Hill, who posted a wonderful feature on Huntley’s work yesterday. Her aesthetic is modern mixed with classical elements and glamorous details, so naturally, I loved it!
Most of you have probably been experiencing beautiful, crisp fall weather for a while now, but here in Houston, it has just recently started to cool down into the seventies. For us, it’s ideal weather for dining al fresco which is why I absolutely loved this outdoor space designed by Huntley. The sunburst mirror is beautiful and earthy and the colors she chose are perfect for autumn. The gorgeous suzani is the perfect finishing touch as it adds just the right amount of color and interest.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Sponsor Spotlight: Avid Home
La Dolce Vita is happy to welcome Avid Home onboard as a sponsor. President, Alana Villanueva has been a long-time reader of the blog and I have loved her store for quite some time now. Avid Home carries a wonderful array of furniture, accessories, lighting, and textiles that run the gamut from classic traditional to modern glamour. The store has been featured in such high-profile publications as House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Veranda, and Coastal Living.

Alana isn’t just passionate about great design, she also seeks to help the less fortunate and has teamed up with the Helping Hands organization. “AVIDHOME supports the work of Rick Whittlesey which is showcased on our website under modern/abstract art. As Executive Director of Go Nigeria, 100% of his art sales are used to support his work with orphans and widows in Nigeria. He helps run 20 Care Centers in this west African nation which provide food, water, basic medical care, and life-changing education and vocational training for needy Nigerians."

I love how glamorous this is!
The aptly named Cinchwaist Side Table features very feminine lines.
The Costello Table is a great, masculine contrast.
I love the shape and nailhead trim on the Casino Chair
The Industrial Wood Mirror is a great alternative to a traditional gilded starburst mirror.
I love the vintage quality of the Expedition Mirror
The Dalton Lamp features clean lines and a versatile design.
Avid Home also features some great accessories such as this fabulous Pagoda lantern which comes in various sizes.
If you prefer a more classic look, you might like the weathered look of the Old World Terra Cotta Pot.
Avid Home also carries wallcoverings and textiles including this fabulous geometric Archipelago fabric by Windsor Smith.
