The circa 1950's vintage floral dress - nipped in waist with full skirt - has always been my friend. It hides a multitude of sins for the fuller figure and is very feminine in a Mad Men kind of way. I started my love affair with this type of dress when I was much younger. I would rifle through my mother's closet and try on everything that she had kept in this style - my darling mother is a hoarder, so lucky for me.
I was reminded of these vintage dresses when I saw that 1stdibs has a new section for vintage haute couture and designer clothing. With one hundred new listings each week there are sure to be some fabulous finds. xv
