French Macarons (macaroons)...Laduree - Part VI

And the finale of my week long posts dedicated to Laduree. I hope you all have enjoyed the posts with one of my obsessions in life ^_^ I've certainly enjoyed all of your comments and thoughts as well. My finale is a twist from what Laduree is known for and taken from their books and publications. Laduree is publishing a gourmet travel journal that features watercolors by Elsie called "Carnet de Voyage". I really love watercolors and thought I would end on a serene note.

Now this is a dream.

This is a great book for eye candy with beautiful photos
and articles of Laduree's many flavors and perfumes.

The book is written in storybook style and talks of the
history of Laduree. Laduree pretty much invented
the modern "Salon de thé" with many famous people
linked to the now famed salon. The book also contains
recipes and tips including the recipe for macarons
which takes 24 hours to make.

You can send this Laduree watercolor in
post card format to a friend!

Speaking on the subject of watercolors, I also wanted to
mention that I'm a big fan of Anne Harwell's watercolors.
This is her latest commission below. Isn't it wonderful?

French Macarons (macaroons)...Laduree - Part V

Laduree gifts and packaging are wonderfully girly and make beautiful gifts. They actually make more than just sweets of the edible kind. I was pleasantly surprised by all they offer including a very "mouth-watering" umbrella and playing cards with French ladies!

Laduree Perfume in a sultry bottle,
pink embossed candle, and a beautiful fan.

I love how their logo is embossed onto the container.

I've always had a weak spot for tea sets. Amazingly enough,
I recently found out that Jacky Chan - the amazing comedic
martial artist actually collects tea cups! Not very manly
but I find it to be a very cool quirk.

I'd love a set of these for myself :-)

Here's a bag with that ultra purple pastry I posted about
yesterday. Love it!

Playing cards with French ladies
garbed in the Marie Antoinette style.

And the beautiful wrap and presentation of Laduree gift boxes. I just love the
color palettes.

And I have to end with something quirky. An umbrella
doused with those amazing purple pastries (see post below
for the actual pastry.) It's definitely mouth-watering
and oodles of fun!

French Macarons (macaroons)...Laduree - Part IV

HELLOOOO Sweets! My fourth installment of Laduree is actually on the edible delights that Laduree offers. From the legendary macaroons to chocolates, cakes, and macaron cakes! We're not quite done with the sweets from the holidays yet (I'm still being surrounded by sweets at work...can't seem to get away from it...)

Isn't this the most beautiful purple pastry you've ever seen?
I want to print this post it on my inspiration board.

This one too! Classic Laduree macarons.

I didn't realize that Laduree made chocolates too. Ambrosia.

Luscious Black Currant. One of my favorite flavors.

This square macaron cake is so cool!

Love the color of this tiered cake.

French Macarons (macaroons)...Laduree - Part III

And of course the French Salons of Laduree. There are 4 Laduree salons in Paris. Laduree Bonaparte, Laduree Royale, Laduree au Grand Magasin du Printemps, and Laduree Champs Elysees. Laduree Royale is the original tea salon created in 1862.

Gorgeous fabrics and furnishings again in this salon.

The Champs Elysees' salon has beautifully appointed
rooms in the luxurious classic French style.

Laduree au Grand Magasin du Printemps has a unique look.

Doesn't it make you want to visit all of their salons?
Fabulous decor, gorgeous and to die for pastries. What
more would any girl want?

French Macarons (macaroons)...Laduree - Part II

Here's part II to Laduree and their beautiful salons. Today I'm posting photos from Laduree's London salons. They have a small location in Harrod's (Burlington Arcade) and a full salon in Knightsbridge (the same district and area as Harrod's.)

Aren't the colors incredible?

The facade to the Laduree London salon in Knightsbridge.

A very tantalizing setting of tea and macarons.

How's this for drama!

Marble with antique stools to boot.

Beautiful furnishings and fabrics.

And of course the boutique area.

French Macarons (macaroons)...Laduree

What do you know, I made it to Christmas without a cold and then got hit with one on the cruise. I'm going to really enjoy catching up on all the great posts I missed while I was away. My first day back at work today and the chocolate and sweets are still everywhere! I thought I would post on one of my all time favorite pastries. French Macarons. I actually had my first macaron from a trip to a famous French hotel in Vietnam and have been hooked ever since. I suppose my love of macarons come from both the flavor and the texture. I just Love the texture of macarons.

Laduree in Paris is the inventor of the modern day double decker macaron of which approximately Laduree sells 15,000 every day. Just astounding. The rest of this week I'm going to show photos of yummy macarons and photos from some of the most amazing Laduree salons. I'm dedicating a whole week of posts to my obsession!

Fabulous display of colorful Macarons!

Raspberry Macaron from Laduree.

This Laduree Salon in Berlin looks like a beautiful ribbon
and stationary shop. Every Laduree salon has totally
different decor.

and beautiful chandelier.
