i almost want to start embroidering....

but I am no Olympia Le-Tan. Olympia creates hand sewn limited edition clutch bags inspired by her love of classical editions. Each 'book' is wrapped in embroidered fabric and lined in liberty print; her signature is a personalised woven name tape reminiscent of boarding school days.

She is one very cool girl. Educated in Paris and London, Olympia Le Tan worked at Chanel and Balmain and then became a DJ. Once she tired of the global nightlife she returned to her first passion, books. The favourite books became bags and in 2005 she launched her first collection. From a distance these minaudieres, such classics as For Whom the Bell Tolls, Moby Dick and Nineteen Eighty-Four, are indistinguishable as clutch bags save for their small golden clasps. Her best seller is non other than Catcher in the Rye...that comes as no surprise.

I am thinking I would like something feminine and child like, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or Little Woman...Louisa May Alcott or Lewis Caroll written in embroidery...I can see the loops of the 'L's and the generosity of the 'A's and 'C's already in my mind's eye....What would be your choice of title? xv
