Hibiscus flowers, literally.
Dried hibiscus flowers when used as a tea apparently have many medicinal properties. These pretty pink blooms when ingested are known to act as an anti inflammatory, to fight against free radicals as an anti-oxidant and to help clear bronchitis, coughs, colds and the flu. Hibiscus tea is beneficial for the skin, supposedly acts as a diuretic, relieves laryngitis and the symptoms of gastro-enteritis. All in all a miracle cuppa; I just like the taste.
How to Brew:
Place a small handful of flowers in the teapot and fill with boiling water.
Leave the tea to strengthen for a few minutes.
Place a thin slice of lemon in the bottom of the cup.
Strain and pour in the tea.
Delish, xv.
