It's not every day that you find something so great that it inspires you to change your whole life. For Jay Shafer of the Tumbleweed Tiny House Co. that great thing was and is small living. I found this article today on American Profile about Jay and his tiny 100-sqft house and how it has inspired him to create the small house movement. Not only has Jay developed great floor plans for small house living but he along with Gregory Johnson, Shay Salomon and Nigel Valdez have founded the Small House Society. The Small House Society promotes the research and development of affordable and ecologically responsible tiny houses. Membership to this great society is only $5 a year and as an interior design student who loves small places and is on a budget this seems like the perfect society for me. Here are a few of Jay's designs.
